Personal Life

Paul was born and raised in the Bay of Quinte region and has deep roots in the local community. Following his post-secondary studies, he returned to the area, where he and his family have proudly called Belleville—and specifically Ward 2 (Thurlow)—home for more than 28 years. Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Criminology from the University of Windsor and is a 27-year veteran of the Correctional Service of Canada. Throughout his career, he has served in six different federal penitentiaries in a variety of roles and currently holds a management position. As a former certified Crisis Negotiator Instructor with the Correctional Service of Canada, Paul played a key role in resolving numerous serious incidents and institutional disturbances. His extensive experience has equipped him with strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills developed in some of the most challenging environments. Outside of work, Paul enjoys spending time on the water boating and kayaking, as well as exploring the Eastern Ontario trail system on his ATV.
